Our Work

What We Do

The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) is the independent administrative authority responsible for the regulation, supervision, and oversight of the gambling market in Greece. Through its regulatory, supervisory, and enforcement activities, the HGC promotes a safe, transparent, and well-regulated gambling environment that safeguards the public interest, protects players, and supports the sustainable development of the sector.
At the heart of the HGC’s mission is the commitment to ensuring that gambling activities in Greece are conducted lawfully, fairly, and transparently, in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory framework. The Commission works to uphold the integrity of the market while fostering responsible gambling practices and protecting vulnerable individuals and groups from gambling-related harm.
Through strategic planning, evidence-based policymaking, and the use of modern supervisory tools, the HGC continuously adapts its regulatory approach to address emerging technologies, evolving market conditions, and societal developments.
