Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC), acting as the Data Controller, is committed to protecting the personal data of individuals using its services, ensuring that every processing activity is carried out in full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Law 4624/2019 ( Α’ 137).
Within the scope of its responsibilities, HGC collects only the absolutely necessary personal data of citizens, such as full name and contact details (indicatively: email, telephone number, address), depending on the purpose of use, which includes, among others, the management of suitability licenses and certifications, the processing of complaints regarding illegal betting or online gaming activities, as well as the handling of administrative procedures.
The legal basis for the processing of these data is founded either on the explicit consent of users (e.g. newsletters, subscriber registration) or on the performance of a task carried out in the public interest and in the exercise of the public authority vested in it, with the ultimate aim of ensuring the orderly functioning of the gaming market and compliance with its legal obligations, as set out in detail in the Authority’s attached Privacy Policy, which you can find below.
