The Administration

The Hellenic Gaming Commission is composed of nine members, who are appointed by the Minister of Finance and are persons of recognized standing, distinguished for their scientific expertise and professional competence, and who possess specialized experience in the areas of responsibility assigned to them.

The Chair of the HGC is appointed from among its nine members by decision of the Minister of Finance, following an opinion issued by the Parliamentary Committee on Institutions and Transparency of the Hellenic Parliament.

The Chair has overall responsibility for the Commission’s work and the general supervision of the Authority’s operations, presides over the meetings of the HGC, and represents the Authority in judicial and extrajudicial matters.

The term of office of the Chair and the other members of the HGC is four years and may be renewed only once. The composition of the members of the HGC, excluding the Chair, is partially renewed every two years, in order to ensure the continuity of the Authority’s operation.
