A Casino Junket Operator is a natural person or legal entity, established in Greece or abroad, that collaborates with a licensed land based casino operator to promote casino gaming activities and attract customers. Junket Operators are remunerated by the licensed land based casino operator based on the participation of the customers they introduce to the casino’s gaming activities.
To carry out such activities legally, a Junket Operator must obtain a Junket Operator Suitability Licence from the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC).
Pursuant to Article 378(27) of Law 4512/2018 (Government Gazette A’ 5), any person wishing to cooperate with a casino licence holder for the purpose of promoting gaming activities and attracting customers is required to hold a valid Junket Operator Suitability Licence.
Applications for the granting of a Junket Operator Suitability Licence are submitted to the HGC in accordance with the provisions of Ministerial Decision 56580 EX 2022 (Government Gazette B’ 2166), which amended and codified the provisions governing the suitability of persons involved in gambling activities.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the HGC Information System.
