Training and Professional Development of HGC Personnel

The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) places strong emphasis on the training and continuous professional development of its personnel. Training policy forms an integral part of the Authority’s broader strategic planning and is fully aligned with its principles and vision. Its objective is to ensure the effective and efficient exercise of HGC’s responsibilities, in the public interest and for the protection of society.

HGC personnel participate in training and development programs covering key areas of the Authority’s responsibilities, including the regulatory and institutional framework of the regulated gaming market, supervision and enforcement, prevention of money laundering, information security, digital governance, and the enhancement of organizational performance.

Particular emphasis is placed on participation in certified training programs and internationally recognized initiatives, as well as on collaboration with established public and private educational institutions in Greece and abroad. At the same time, targeted internal training programs are implemented, tailored to the specific needs and operational scope of the Authority’s departments.

HGC also focuses on the international networking of its personnel, ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge and skills to respond effectively to the complex regulatory and supervisory environment of the gaming sector. The Authority’s training policy is continuously developed and updated, taking into account the growing demands of the regulated market, the rapidly evolving technological landscape, and international best practices.
