The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) is an independent administrative Authority, responsible for regulating, supervising and auditing games of chance carried out on the Greek Territory.

The HGC was originally established in 2004 as an administrative authority titled “Hellenic Gambling Commission”. In 2011, the Authority was renamed to “Hellenic Gaming Commission” and in February 2012, it was converted and is since operating as an independent administrative Authority, with administrative and financial independence and autonomy, which, moreover, now has its own legal personality.

The Hellenic Gaming Commission is composed of nine members appointed by the Minister of Finance, who are persons of recognized competence, distinguished for their scientific training and professional skills, with specialized expertise on the subject matters of responsibility entrusted to them.
